My favourite stay in Japan
This was my favourite stay in two trips to Japan. Hosts were amazing, very friendly. Food was excellent. We arrived in the pouring rain and they took great care of us. They don’t speak English so study your Japanese!

A truly special stay
Although the guesthouse is located a fair distance away from the main trail, there is well signposted side trail that takes you directly there without the need to walk along the road. If you're lucky you may also encounter the monkeys that occupy the trees on this trail which was such a cool experience. The people here are incredibly kind and welcoming really making an effort to make sure you enjoy your stay. They even offer a complimentary shuttle ride for you to continue your trek in the morning. The food here is exceptional and the home itself is beautiful and very comfortable.

One of our most delightful stays on trail! We loved the location, the accommodation, and the food. Hosts were gracious and kind. Hosts offers complimentary rides, but the minshuku can also be accessed by a side trail from the main trail which was greatly appreciated as we don't enjoy road walking.
