the room and onsen are great, but we do need shoe dryer after being soaked walking in the rain for 8 hours. simply putting dry newspapers in the shoes does not help a lot.

The accommodation was excellent; the building is very large, with a well-run reception and efficient organization. The rooms were very spacious, with the toilet located in the adjacent room. Meals are brought to your room to be eaten at the dining table; dinner was fantastic, featuring a wide variety of dishes and two courses plus dessert. Breakfast was also excellent. Staff set up the beds in the room after dinner. The room also included a small seating area with a table, offering a great view of the small onsen village and the main street. There is a bus stop right outside the door. The onsen baths were wonderfully warm, featuring both indoor and outdoor areas. A lovely place to stay; we would definitely book it again and recommend it to others.

Best Ryokan and Onsen experience in Japan
Excellent service, beautiful and comfortable room, and very good thermal baths. A perfect stop to recover energies at the middle of the Nakahechi route.

Beautiful Ryokan
The Ryokan is beautiful. The ryokan staff is very kind. We arrived a little bit late and they received us with no issues. The staff girl that brought us the meals to our bedroom explains the different dishes and how to eat them, which was great to know more about japanese food and culture.

Beautiful traditional Ryokan
Loved our three night stay here. The staff are attentive and helpful and the village is very quiet (in the summer!) and peaceful.

Interesting experience
The building is a bit run down but quite authentic. The staff are friendly but a bit regimented. Nowhere was open for lunch and not much to do in Yunomine Onsen

Ryokan Adumaya
Located right in the center of Yunomine Onsen, this is an exceptional ryokan. As soon as you step inside, you immediately feel like you're entering a historic building that has kept all the charm of ancient and traditional Japan. The meals were delicious and generous. The staff was warm and welcoming, taking real pleasure in sharing the history of the place with us. The onsen is outstanding and truly makes you feel like you are traveling back in time.

Halfway Treat
At the end of day 3, after the longest trekking day and just past the overall halfway mark, decided to treat ourselves to this traditional Ryokan. The outdoor onsen, although small, was beautifully situated, and really appreciated - we visited 3 times before and after dinner, and again prior to breakfast. Great to sooth the muscles. Our tatami mat room, "Kokutan", was enormous with our own veranda overlooking the main street where we enjoyed green tea. The kaiseki style meals for dinner and breakfast were delicious, and whilst much appreciated, almost too much to eat. Bus stops right outside so very easy for arriving from and departing to the trail. Thank you.
