Review: One of the best experience of our 3-weeks trip
The rooms are large with painted sliding doors. They are clean and really pretty.
The bath is a regular bath but clean and sufficient.
The meals were the best we had on our whole sty in Japan. It was a fantastic variety of sashimi, pickled and fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, tempura, ... The break was fantastic as well. The meal sizes are very large. You will be well fed even after the longest hike.
Koguchi is a small village in the midst of the mountains. There is one little convenience store run by a very friendly lady and the clear river invites to a bath.
The host was very friendly and kind.

Review: Nice stay with a nice host
After a warm welcome we were shown to our very spacious rooms. Food was great and we loved the chat with the other couple staying there that night. Thanks for the good time.

Review: Friendly host, nice guestroom and meals
Great experience with Minshuku Momofuku. Our host was friendly, and we have a nice dinner, breakfast and packed lunch. Well located, close to the trailhead for the trek from Koguchi to Nachisan.

Review: Welcome
A lovely welcome, the room was large, laundry will be done for free but with respect to the family's schedule. Food was good, nice, quiet place but not much to see or do in the surrounds. Another hiker actually took a bus to Koguchi and walked back to Hongu then bused to Yunomine for another night of ridiculous cleanliness - the bused again to Koguchi before taking the Ogumotorikoe to Nachi Taisha

Review: Hospitable hosts and a lot of food...
I was the only guest at the minshuku, so I received full attention from the hosts! The room was huge, and the host even washed my laundry without extra charge. Both dinner and breakfast were like feasts - exactly what I needed after and before my long hikes!

Review: A special place
What a wonderful couple Ide and his wife were. After our previous night's experience we were extremely grateful for the offer of laundry facilities. Food was delicious and our lunch time bento boxes were beautifully presented. Our accommodation was special with much attention to detail. We would highly recommend Minshuku Momofuku.

Review: Cozy homestay
The stay at Minshuku Momofuku really felt like being in someone's home, as it didn't seem like it was custom-built as a guesthouse. It is still very cosy and comfortable - the guestroom had the separate living area with a low table. Meals had that hearty homecooked style, and was in large quantities. The bath is meant to be used by one person at a time, but still had a tub you can soak in. Great location for hiking the Kumano, as the trailhead is just nearby.
