Review: Genuine hospitality, a wonderful family homestay experience

Staying at Momofuku transports you back to a world where people are friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make it a special experience. The location and facilities were great. Standouts were the super comfortable beds, and the magnificent home-cooked Japanese food, which was far and away the best I experienced on the entire Komano Kodo trail. Thanks for having me, it was wonderful.

Review: Enjoyable stay

The meals were served too early. I would have liked to eat at 7pm or later and have breakfast at 8am.

Review: Momofuku

As I was the only guest, I may have been occupying two rooms but it felt like a suite and traditional too: carved wood panels and real shoji.
I have a score of 4 for several items, which is relative to Kiri no Sato and MUI: I mean, I loved Momofuku but Kiri was impeccably professional and MUI was that much more attentive and earnest.
Please take note also: in terms of your point system, I gave Sanso slightly more points than Momofuku but I preferred Momfuku because it was like a homestay and Sanso was like a hotel.

Review: Fantastic

another warm welcome! this felt like staying in someones home more than anything. the man spoke English and kindly arranged for my bags to be taken to the next location as the hike here is difficult. the room was large and cosy. I had a good nights sleep and a huge breakfast awaited. very close to the trail head.
