Review: Very roomy and very friendly
I was the only guest here, and I'm not sure if there is only one room. I had access to two rooms – a sitting room and the bedroom. It was a little more basic in some ways, with a good shower on offer but no bath. (It may be that I wasn't clear enough in asking if the (empty) bath could be filled for my use.) Otherwise the food was good and tasty. No beer or wine was offered, but that probably wasn't a bad thing given the significant climb that lay ahead of me the next day!

Review: top minshuku!
This is the best place we have enjoyed during our trip. The hosts are awfully nice, the place is very quiet and on spot wrt the Kumano trail but also a nice swimming spot in the river, the food is beyond words, and the rooms are comfortable and large. Plus there is only room for one couple. We had a long exchange with the hosts, despite our impossibility to communicate in Japanese, and they drove us to Kawase at the start of the last leg of our hike the next morning. Terrific memories!

host is friendly but pretty directive
major disadvantage of this accomodation is that the host´s private TV set was very loud and disturbing in the guest room; we would have preferred to enjoy the quiet location

Another fantastic meal with very accommodating hosts. We hiked through the pouring rain and when we arrived they were so kind in washing and drying our clothes and packs for that day.

Review: Good hospitality
When we arrived early, we were allowed to drop off our bags and take towels to go swim in the river. That was very nice and exactly what we were craving after a long day of hiking. The meals were good, but paled in comparison to some of the gourmet experiences we had at other guesthouses on the trip. The house itself is a little run down, but still more than adequate for our needs. A nice stay overall.

Review: Warm & welcoming with wonderful food
Friendly and chatty (despite the language barrier!) host with a large, beautiful & comfortable room. Meals were delicious and very filling. Interesting reading materials about the area, and many souvenirs / gifts from around the world in the dining room. Clean & functional shower room, nothing fancy. Breakfast served nice and early, with the accommodation just a stone's throw from the Ogumotore-goe trailhead.
