The host is able to communicate in simple English. This minshuku makes you feel homely & one thing for sure, the meals were simply huge! This place is slightly hard to find because of the many bridges, best use Google map but there're a couple of signages to guide you.

Review: Amazing stay

Wonderful, charming place to stay while walking the Kumano Kodo. The minshuku is run by an incredibly nice elderly couple. We had our best sleep and the best meal of our entire trip here. The food was so delicious!

Hide and Chieko have warmly welcomed us to their home and fed us several scrumptious meals. We were refreshed after a weary day of walking. The minshuku is also conveniently located along the Kumano Kodo trail. Highly recommended for anyone planning to hike the trail.

This is the place to stay in Koguchi. My host welcomed me warmly even though I arrived earlier than planned. The food was AMAZING. The nice little garden in front was worth having a quick look too. I would definitely go back there.

Review: Welcoming host with excellent service. Felt close to home.

Hide-san was out waiting for us when we reached Koguchi. It was during the typhoon and it felt heart-warming to know that the host was out in the rain waiting for our arrival. His wife graciously helped us with our wet overalls. The food was excellent. Hide-san even helped us dry our shoes! Couldn't ask for a better host than him. The futon was really comfortable as well.
