Review: Best Hosts, Great location, Excellent Meals -- can't ask for more!

We arrived Momofuku early in the afternoon soaking wet. Our hosts immediately helped us changed into the kimonos they provided and washed our cloths and dried our shoes. Since they don't have a dryer, they set up two fans in the second bedroom to dry our cloths overnight. We rested in the large bedroom with a TV until dinner. Dinner was absolutely delicious; we enjoyed every bite. Every dish was well prepared, both presentation and taste. Breakfast was equally delicious. We can't thank our hosts enough for what they did for us. It made our trip so memorable and enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this mishuku.

Review: A lovely home in the middle of the mountains

A no frills stay in the mountains with this lovely family. The room was very large and nice, but small touches reminded you that this is more of a home than a minshuku: the bug spray by the trash cans, the powerful room deodorizers, the family bathroom and toilet area.

The hosts are very charming and pleasant. The food was excellent and abundant.

Note that you will use the family bath, which means you will be given a bath time so you can privately bathe. Therefore, you may not get your first choice time slot and there was no morning bath offered. The bath is filled with hot tap water, no onsen water in the village that I know of (no onsen or sento either). Because I was given the first time slot for the bath I was wary to add cold water to the scalding hot bath (the same bath water is used by everyone), so, next time, I would ask if it is ok to adjust the water temperature before bathing.

We had a great stay at Momofuku! The owner was really funny. He made us laugh a lot and was very helpfull (he gave us rope to tie around our shoes to prevent them from slipping). His wife was also really sweet and a great cook. The room we were given was excellent. Really big, the sitting room and sleeping room were separated so we had a lot of space.

C'etait un moment MAGIQUE et INOUBLIABLE! Extreme gentillesse des proprietaitres des lieux, nourriture plus que delicieuse, je n'ai jamais mange d'ananas aussi delicieux de toute ma vie, poisson, soupe ecellentissimeS, comme tout le reste d'ailleurs (totemo oishikatta desu). Etablissement super propre et tres joli. paysage magnifique ! JE REVE RE RETOURNER A KOGUCHI. KOGUCHI GA DAISUKIDESU! ARIGATOUGOZAIMASU!!!!!!!

Very nice hosts, good room, dinner and breakfast was amazing. The location is very good for nakahetchi walks either way.

Review: Lovely

Wonderful rooms, our hosts were welcoming and so helpful. The shared bathroom was very clean and it was lovely to be offered a hot bath as soon as we arrived. The dinner and breakfasts were very tasty, the sushimi for dinner was delicious. The minshuku was easy to find, it was very clean and in a lovely quiet location, we really enjoyed our stay here. The bento box was very tasty also.
