Review: Great time at momofuku
After a long day of hiling the Kumano Kodo, we found Momofuku and were welcomed by Hide and his wife. Our teenage children, who were tired and fed-up with Japanese food and beds, were turned around and became lively and enthousiastic again. The food was just super, the beds were the softest futon so far, our clothes were whashed, we had a great time talking and making Jokes with our hosts. Hide speaks reasonable English, which makes things much easier. We would definitely recommend starting here!

Review: Great hosts and decent accommodations
Had a great stay at this minshuku. The facility itself was not ideal because you could hear everyone that stays here (including the guy snoring all night next door), but the hosts and the food was great. Had a wonderful time talking to them and learning more about the area at dinner. Would recommend.

Review: Perfect !!
It's a real pleasure to arrive at the Momofuku guesthouse after a hard day of hiking ! A hot tea and sweets were waiting for us, and after a good hot bath, we had an amazing dinner !!! The breakfast was perfect too ! And the room really pleasant.

Review: Extremely kind and hospitable ryokan - home away from home
This was the most delightful home stay type experience. Mr and Mrs Nakazawa are kind and caring hosts without being intrusive. My room was large and comfortable, I loved the Japanese pajamas I was given to use (more comfortable perhaps than the usual yukata) and lovely Japanese afternoon tea when I arrived. The futon was the most comfortable and snuggly of all the places I stayed on the Kumano Kodo trail. Mr Nakazawa is very entertaining and Mrs Nakazawa is a wonderful cook. The other guests staying that night and I were given a great meal, hearty breakfast and good bento lunch. A highlight of my trip!

Review: Minshuku Momofuku
Excellent service and friendly reception. The personality of our host with his hearty good natured laugh was a memorable feature of our stay here. Food was excellent and we appreciated the inclusion of foods that were familiar to the western taste. I enjoyed the free beer! Koguchi is paradise and the scenery along the river's edge is breathtaking.

Review: Great food and host!
We really loved staying at Momofuko! The place is simple but clean and cozy, the host really nice and the food great! It almost feels like being at some relative house! They did our laundry, cooked us an amazing dinner and walked us to the bus station the morning after. I can't reccomend it more!
