Review: Not just accommodation!
Really kind hosts that provided not just accommodation but also conversation and laughter (mixing English and my limited Japanese…), sharing thoughts on environment, hobbies and old traditions. Small place but very well run.

Review: A warm and friendly welcome! Great location!
The hosts are so friendly an helpful! The futon is very comfortable especially after a long walk! The minshuku is also really easy to find. I totally recommend this minshuku.

Very welcoming, wonderful meals and a good atmosphere. The signs pointing to this minshuku at the bridge and after the tunnel were much appreciated as I had worried that it may be difficult to find. Very thoughtful also to provide advice in English about the siren that sounds to mark the time.

An excellent Minshuku and very welcome stop after our 4th day on the Kumano Kodo. We were made to feel very much part of the family. The room was good,a sleeping area and adjoining reading/rest room. The dinner and breakfast were amazing - the quality and presentation. The host and hostess are very nice people, with good english spoken.
We decided in the end not to do the last section from Koguchi to Nachisan as was the toughest section and with the heat and humidity (29 deg and 90% humidity) thought it we would leave it to another time - later in autumn! Mrs Nakazawa kindly gave us a lift to Shingu as she was going shopping, that gave us an opportunity to see Shingu and also more of Nachisan than we otherwise would not have seen.

I arrived quite early at the Minshuku, and I was welcome and shown to my room by the lady of the house. She told me her husband was currently out, and as he spoke English, he will show me around the house when he comes back. She turned on the air conditioner for me, and I was able to relax and rest in the room, which was very spacious, and it also has a wooden legless chair which provided a welcome back support while sitting on the tatami mat. There was a tv and I enjoyed watching the Japanese period drama!
The husband came in and welcome me and showed me the shower room and facilities, and told me dinner would be served between 6 and 6:30, which was a feast and there were fruits too! Breakfast was good too, and there were fruits, banana and yoghurt, a nice touch.

Review: Great help in emergency
After one of us fell and injured their hand on the kumano kudo, we arrived tired and stressed at this lodge. The lodge owners welcomed us really kindly, gave us ice packs and called the Travel Service of kumano travel to advise us about medical care. We were well cared for here! Many thanks for your help!
