The house has may be nothing special but the food was amazing and the service very warm (it was raining cats and dogs and I got my clothes dried and paper put in my shoes). Very nice to share the same dinner/breakfast table (rather than being served in your room).

Review: "Hire-san" and his wife were WONDERFUL hosts and the meals were perhaps one of the highlights of our trip!

"Hire-san" and his wife were WONDERFUL hosts and the meals were perhaps one of the highlights of our trip! Wonderful blend of tastes in numerous special dishes. We were asked on arrival what time we wanted our bath -- and a cover was put over it, to keep it piping hot, at our convenience. One of the best baths! It did not bother us at all to have an "old-fashioned" toilet system.
