Minshuku Nakano is a family-run guesthouse located in the southern part of Chikatsuyu village. Originally it was frequented by fishermen looking to catch the delicious Ayu sweetfish that thrive in the nearby Hiki-gawa river (the owner is an avid fisherman himself), but they have opened their home and hearts to walkers and pilgrims on the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. It is located 10 minutes on foot from the Chikatsuyu-oji.

Kodo-no-Miyako is a renovated guesthouse run by two sisters in the village of Chikatsuyu. It is located down the hill after visiting Gyuba-doji statue, just a 300-meter stroll along the road, off the trail. The owners have rediscovered the charm of rural living and the Kumano Kodo and after working with other local travel service businesses in the area, decided to open their inn to share homespun hospitality. The guesthouse was once Chikano Elementary School, and there is an occasionally operating karaoke bar on site. Whether guests are placed in the Japanese or Western-style room, either have beds with futon bedding, and the space is spacious and comfortable. The shared lounge area features instruments sometimes played by locals. Supper is provided by an area restaurant featuring local ingredients and delivered to the accommodation in the evening. A takeaway lunch will also be provided at the guesthouse, but breakfast will be at a nearby cafe. Kodo-no-Miyako is a great place to rest and relax in the tranquility of a peaceful, mountain village.
