Review: Just awesome.
Hidesan and his wife were the nicest people and their minshuku very comfortable and clean.
The old house is a true gem and we felt honoured to be able to sleep here. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding and delicious, really enjoyed staying here.

Lovely traditional rooms, wonderful service, adorable owners, and delicious food! Our favorite stay along the Kumano Kodo trek.

Review: Very friendly couple
Very friendly couple. Nice food. And very good location close to the river where we could swim.

Review: Comfortable stay, would recommend!
One of two places to stay at Minshuku. I swung by the other place to grab beer with fellow travelers, but it looked more like a motel. Momofuku had more of a local vibe, which I loved. The meals were fantastic. The only downside is the lack of beer. We did have really good plum wine (cold!) with dinner though!

Review: Perfect as a Bonsai
This minshuku is perfect as a bonsai! Of the minshuku I stayed at on the Kumano Kodo, this one had the most aesthetic sensibility. For example, there were a number of beautiful bonsai in the garden, lovingly tended by the host for many years. There are also river stones and driftwood with interesting shapes, colors, patterns to stimulate a sense of spirituality toward the earth. The host couple were gracious and communicative. The meals were generous and delicious. Thank you.

Review: Adorable people, amazing food, I want to live with them forever!
This place was adorable! The couple were so cute and so accommodating. The food was absolutely Incredible. So much food! The place was spotless. No bath, but it didn't even matter. There was amazing riverside swimming right out the front door.
