The owner of this ryokan was very nice. I had forgotten my make-up bag at the inn and he brought it to Nachisan for me the same night, which was very, very nice of him

very friendly and helpful owners, who did our washing for free. Was quite a walk from the end of the hike. It would be helpful to have more signposts to the accommodation ie a map or directions at the rest stop at the bridge over the river.

Review: A Genuine Japanese Homestay

Koguchi is a very picturesque but also small town, and we feel very lucky to have been able to reserve a room at Minshuku Momofuku. Although we didn’t have much interaction with the hosts (who disappeared to lay out our futons after serving dinner for us), they were very friendly and prepared a wonderful dinner, breakfast and packed lunch for us.

The walk from Hongu (Ukegawa) to Koguchi was one of the shorter legs of our trip, so it was nice that this accommodation offered the slightly earlier than most check-in time from 14:00. We found a lovely swimming hole in a stream close by the house, which was perfect for a dip to cool down after a hot day of walking.

Yuta and his wife we're very friendly and informative. Our five star ratings says in all. We especially enjoyed the baths both sides had two large pools as members of the community also use the baths.
