Review: Momofuku the saviour
We arrived on the day of the typhoon, drenched, and Momofuku-san washed and dried our clothes. The town of Koguchi was cut off by floodwaters that night, and the next day he drove us (and another guest) on his truck through the mountain road, battling fallen rocks and trees. We cannot thank him enough for his hospitality.

Review: Unusual old place, but generally good
The guy who owns this place is just kind of an usual character who lives with his mom, but very friendly and nice with us. It was like a time warp inside the home of this guy. Traditional japanese style, guy is very hospitable, but futons had no sheets. They definitely were warm and welcoming, and tried to make dinner very nice for us and were generally very helpful.

This minshuku was very similar to Minshuku Tsugizakura, although the facilities are less modern, and there is no view. Once again the food and reception were excellent.

Review: Comfort Plus!
This was my favourite place to stay on the kumano kodo. The minshuku was right on the trail and the hosts were nothing short of fabulous. The husband could speak great English and his blue haired wife cooked to best dinner and breakfast I had on the trail. The room was large and spacious and as a tall person, this was the first time I stayed in a Japanese style room where the futon was long enough. They also provided a western pillow which added to the comfort. The bathroom was small, but this hardly mattered when everything else was so fabulous.

Review: Nice minshuku, friendly owners and great food
The minshuku is simple and located near the bridge in Koguchi. The owners are a very friendly old couple, and the husband speaks good English. I had a very nice and large room, japanese style, and had a good sleep before another day of hike. There is a simple bathtub in the bathroom, which is pleasant to relax in the evening. I also had there one of my best diners in Japan, all the food was freshly cooked by the lady, all is homemade food and extremely tasty. There is a lot of variety, also fish and vegetables and so much to eat that it is hard to finish even after 7 hours of hiking... Really excellent!

Review: Authenic and spacious accommodation in Koguchi
After completing our fourth day from Ukegawa, this minshuku was magical. Our room was enormous with a sitting area as well as bedroom and luggage area. The bathroom was simple yet adequate. I loved the bonsais in the front entrance. Our hosts provided fantastic kansei for dinner and breakfast leaving us full and ready to face the final day of walking.
