Review: Easy to find on Kumano walk
Great food, and nice room. Shared bathroom with one other room, which was fine.

Review: Beautiful Koguchi
Minshuku Momofuku in Koguchi was very, very good. Hide served us a beautiful dinner and a very large breakfast. The room was really nice. We had a separate sitting area away from our beds. We had such a good rest here before our toughest hiking day. Really nice place.

Review: Charming minshuku
We loved our stay at Minshuku Momofuku. Hide is an excellent host and cook. He seems to enjoy his guests but is not overly chatty or intrusive. The dinner was not fancy but without a doubt was some of the best tasting food we had on the trek. We enjoyed a bedroom and a side sitting room (although the additional room might have been available because we were the only guests in the house that night). The minshuku is located on a side road just beyond the bus stop, and also very close to the trailhead, the river and a small store where you can pick up snacks for the road.

Charming cosy guesthouse. The highlight was our host, Mr Nakazawa, who made us feel at home and entertained us with some great stories after dinner in the evening. He was a delight.

Review: Wonderful Place
A great place to stay in after the hike from Ukegawa to Koguchi. Delicious food and the host is lovely. I slept pretty well so I got the energy for the hike to Nachi Taisha the next day.
10/10 would recommend it to everyone

Review: The BEST place to stay on the Kumano Kodo
My sister and I feel so fortunate to have stayed at Minshuku Momofuku - it really is the best place to stay when walking the Kumano Kodo. The meals prepared by Mr. Nakazawa are AMAZING! Dinner at Minshuku Momofuku was one of the best meals we ate in Japan. Mr. Nakazawa was such a nice host - we arrived at exactly check in and wanted to leave at sunrise, and he got up early to make us breakfast and always had a smile on his face! The rooms are comfortable, clean and warm - it was the perfect stay. Would 100% recommend Minshuku Momofuku and come back again!

Review: Perfect Stay
We enjoyed our stay with HeDai (spelling wrong). He was funny and an excellent cook and host. We were so lucky to get a chance to stay with him while all the other hikers were at the camp or a repurposed lodging. They were all so jealous of us and our description of our stay. We wish good things for our host and appreciate all he did for us.
